The 2009 edition
‘the blue book’ in 2009 included the results of surveys conducted with 800 candidates and 600 organisations - highlighting the prime drivers for candidates moving jobs and the key employment benefits offered by organisations.
Initial findings from 'the blue book' 2009 include:
78% of organisations anticipate attracting the right staff will be tough, but overall are more optimistic than the previous year.
58% of organisations are confident about business plans for 2009.
Organisations across all regions (with the exception of Bristol and the South) consistantly rated being a 'Market Leader' (62% average) as more of an attractant than 'Career Progression' (52% average) to potential employees.
Candidates across all regions rated 'Career Progression' (67%) as a significantly higher attractant to an organisation than being a 'Market Leader' (23%).
15% of organisations reported having no recruitment plans for the year.

‘the blue book’ contains salary data tables displaying high, low and market rates for salaries in numerous job categories. Subdivided into vertical and geographic markets, each section contains a commentary by experts in each of the Angela Mortimer group’s specialist recruitment companies.
The survey provides salary details for the majority of the group’s recruitment divisions and geographical locations, divided into regional sections:
